The Ubujima Ecosystem

Ubujima is developing an interconnected technology ecosystem rather than a collection of isolated products.

🌍 AfroCom

AfroCom is the community-facing platform and the first major product within the ecosystem.

Today, its core focus is community networking. Over time, AfroCom is intended to expand into a broader platform combining areas such as:

  • Community networking
  • Business and creator tools
  • Marketplace and opportunity discovery
  • Events and projects
  • Communication
  • Entertainment
  • Crowdfunding
  • Utilities
  • Financial services
  • AI-powered experiences
  • Blockchain-enabled services where appropriate

🤖 Ma'at AI

Ma'at AI is Ubujima's artificial intelligence initiative.

Its potential applications include:

  • Intelligent user experiences
  • Personalized recommendations
  • Intelligent matching
  • Well-being services
  • Collective intelligence
  • Business intelligence
  • AI-powered productivity tools
  • Data and knowledge services

Ma'at AI may support AfroCom while also developing into a reusable intelligence layer for other products and services.

🔗 Maji

Maji is Ubujima's blockchain and decentralized-infrastructure initiative.

The project is exploring capabilities such as:

  • Digital ownership
  • Wallet and transaction infrastructure
  • Crowdfunding
  • Community governance
  • Decentralized participation
  • Identity and trust

Maji remains an evolving initiative, with implementation guided by real product and community needs.

🧱 Shared Platform Direction

As the ecosystem grows, common platform capabilities can support multiple products without requiring every product to rebuild the same functionality.

These capabilities may include areas such as:

  • Identity and access
  • APIs and service interfaces
  • Data services
  • Communication
  • Notifications
  • Payments
  • Security
  • Observability
  • Developer tooling

Our architectural direction is toward a modular, API-first and service-oriented ecosystem in which capabilities can evolve independently while remaining interoperable.

The public Developer Hub describes this direction at a high level. Detailed implementation information is provided to contributors when it is relevant to their work.

🚀 Build the Ecosystem

Developers may contribute to individual projects while keeping the broader ecosystem in mind.

The objective is not simply to build more software.

The objective is to build technology that works together.
